In the framework of the project MER - Managing and Governing Innovative
Industrial Areas, the tasks related to the Work Package 5 “Long Term
Sustainability” have started. These tasks are addressed to assure that the
lessons learned during the project are implemented in the industrial areas.
In this respect, it is being achieved the first phase, which consists in the
development of a Local Action Plan for Industrial Areas marketing and governing
for every Region. To do that, it has carried out an analysis using the outputs of
the precedent work packages to know the state of the art of every local area,
identifying each current situation and potential critical areas to act in them.
After that, it has proposed a document structured in two levels, the first one
that contains the main general areas of action, and the second one, more
specific, that contains specific actions to carry out in the following years. For
each specific action, it includes the name of the action, the aim, the timing,
the description, the target, the economic aspects, the monitoring, the KPIs, etc.
In this way, the industrial areas have the maximum information about what
actions they can implement and how they have to do it.
Other task in the Work Package 5 is the development of Integrated MER Policy
Recommendations for innovative industrial areas marketing and governing. For
this, it has been made a questionnaire to fill in by the partners to know the
specific situation in every Region. Once it was collected all the information, the
document will be produced and published.
For finishing the tasks in Work Package 5, Valencian Federation of Municipalities
and Provinces, the partner coordinator of this WP, will prepare a list of
commitments to be signed by the partners in the Final Conference of MER
project, that will summarize their engagement in order to pursue and capitalize
the project results.
